This just in from National BTU: A new way to earn cash for your school!
06/19/2009
The 3rd Annual National Box Tops University at General Mills World Headquarters in Minneapolis was a fun and profitable day for nearly 300 coordinators who came from all over the country to learn more about how to help their schools earn cash through Box Tops for Education.
Coordinators in attendance enjoyed a festive "Box Tops" breakfast of Bisquick Pancakes, Honey Kix and Cookie Crisp Sprinkles Cereal.
Mark Addicks, Chief Marketing Officer for General Mills, started the day’s festivities with a "welcome" and the premiere of the first-ever Box Tops music video! Watch it now and share it with your school supporters. Afterwards, members of the Box Tops team gave a presentation highlighting the many ways to earn cash for your school.
National BTU attendees were first to hear about "My Class Essentials", an exciting new way to earn cash for your school through Box Tops while helping your school’s classrooms get the learning tools and supplies they need. Starting in July, teachers at your school can sign up at classessentials.com to create a “My Class Essentials” registry, similar to a wedding or gift registry, for classroom items that they need. School supporters can log on to btfe.com to view their teacher’s registry and make purchases to help their classroom. As a bonus, your school will earn 2% of “My Class Essentials” registry purchases as cash.
Coordinators at BTU were also first to get their copy of the 2009-2010 Coordinator Kit, which will arrive in mailboxes over the summer.
The Costume Contest provided a fun finale to the morning’s activities. The winner, Lori A. from Glendale Elementary in Madison, Wisconsin, treated the audience to a Box Tops rap complete with sign language, and took home the prize of 5,000 Bonus Box Tops.
After a lunch courtesy of Hamburger Helper in the General Mills cafeteria, attendees were invited to the Box Tops Expo, with plenty of free samples, Box Tops gift bags, a coordinator store area and a turn in the wild and windy Bonus Box Tops machine!
