Holiday recipe remakes?
If you're anything like me, food is one of the primary (if not the primary) focus of holiday get-togethers. Growing up, my sister would add a litle bit of whip cream and marshmallows to my grandmother's fruit salad, turning it more into a dessert than a side. Noticing the trend, my grandmother started adding in the extra ingredients herself. My sister always called it her favorite salad, and the name eventually stuck. Now, Thanksgiving isn't complete without grandma's "favorite salad".
Anyone else have fun recipe remakes to share that make the holidays even more special?

RE: Holiday recipe remakes?
Hi Matt!
I have a personal twist on traditional pumpkin pie -- when I was just out of college, I received my first "big girl" cookbook from my mom "Wolfgang Puck" (can't remember which one) but he had a recipe for pumpkin pie with a cranberry compote which lines the shell of the pie before you put in the pumpkin part -- YUM! My new favorite (has been for many years --I guess its my "new traditional" now that so much time has gone by!)
