promoting interest in boxtops
We are trying to get a new boxtops campaign jump started. The school has not promoted it for several years now. If anyone has any promotional letters designed to send home to parents it would be appreciated. I cannot access the coordinators section of the site and none of the links posted in the forum seem to work. If anyone could email me directly I would really appreciate it rhsikes at ctc.net I'm posting my email this way so the server won't block it out. Thanks so much!!

RE: promoting interest in boxtops
Schools want to get parents involved in this program why not try different ideas? I think Box Tops For Education should allow for a place here that parents can input the number of box tops they send to a school. Then small prizes like coupons or a recipe book could be given to those parents who send in the most box tops. I think they could use the same program in classrooms. Keep a chart in the main hallway or lobby of your school, see how many each class can get for a month or two months, then award prizes to those who get the most. Interest in these programs has to unfortunately be at a ME level in today's world. Most parents are looking at is as what do I get out of this? Also, remind the kids, I know my girls look for the box tops on everything when we put together a meal. They also keep track of the coupons for the items with Box Tops. By being active, they are more likely to remind me to cut them off and send them in. This is a terrific program but it needs a couple more layers added to keep the numbers up. Last year my youngest daughter then 7, figured out if everyone in her school brought in just 20 box tops, the school would reach it's goal. I think that was information the PTA/PTO should have been sending home in a newsletter. Let kids and parents know what's expected. I'm not part of my PTA for health reasons, but these ideas work. Marketing is all it is. How to "sell" the idea to parents and kids so they stay involved.
