Box Tops discount card for in store shoppers

 Box Tops should develop a discount card for in store shoppers and those that don't shop online.

Many of my parents don't have access to the internet or prefer to shop in store instead of online. They also utilize many of the Marketplace shops so the schools miss those discounts to be added to their cash balances. Since I revised the Box Tops program at my son's school in 2003 this has been in the back of my mind.

This would be a great incentive for many more people to sign up for Box Tops and it would open up a whole new avenue of promotion for the Box Tops program and our schools.

I would appreciate any and all thoughts on this subject.

I totally agree with Sadira. This would be a wonderfull program to start. I'm a mother of three, & although the internet is a good thing, i still love to go to the stores and shop with my children, its a bonding time for my family as odd as it seems. To post a email you have to break it up.

For example instead of the @ symbol use the word at and use spaces where they should not be so people can see it & it is not *************** out!

Hi,

I hadn't noticed until your post that the Box Top  Mastercard or Visa credit card was gone. That would have been an option if one doesn't mind another card in her wallet. I know that charges on a Target store credit card earn money for schools.

You brought up a good point. My recent Kohl's in store deals could also have helped the school.

What a great idea!!  Not only would it help Boxtops be "redeemed" (if it were linked to your store card - all shoppers could select a local school!) but it would cut down on the things we have to clip, save, sort, etc.  I think many parents just have too much going on to bother.  We would also save the money spent on mailing these in...

I agree with Sadira and Teresa. I purchase products from many of the companies who support Box Tops but I almost never buy things online because I don't have the time to sit down and search through store websites. It is so much easier to walk into a store and pick up what you need right off of the shelf. I did make an online purchase last summer and I was the very first person ever from my children's school! We all want to earn money for our schools and we purchase Box Tops products with that intention. I would love to be able to sign up to receive a card that could be presented to cashiers so my school would benefit from the purchases that I don't make at the grocery store. That way my cash purchases could be included in my schools Box Tops earnings too.

I think this is a fantastic idea. Our school has tried several times to implement the online side of Boxtops but it was met with total resistance. Even the parents that were willing to shop online, said the site was difficult to navigate and hard to remember yet another log in. It was so difficult that we actually use another online shopping program and have soared with it in a very short time. I love the "member type card idea". It could be a basic card that you sign up to receive and all you have to do is show it at the register at all particpating stores. I would love to see this idea implemented. Great job!!! I would definately take a moment to forward this idea straight to Boxtops so someone could see if it could be done or worked on.

I really think that is a good idea. Cause I don't have a way to order online at all.  I shop at Wal-Mart's all the time for just about everything.  Hopefuly we can get something like that started soon

I so agree.  Several stores have cards where you earn points (Hallmark, Office Depot) or discounts on purchases (Winn-Dixie, Shaws. CVS).  This would be perfect for BoxTops.  Make a purchase, swipe your card and instant credit to the school you have registered with.  Count me in on the vote.                      Nancy from Miami
