JC Penney no longer participating in Marketplace?

I have used the marketplace to link to JC Penney's for years, and have earned quite a bit for my school by doing so.  Went to use it today, and it's no longer listed.  Have they stopped participating?  First Amazon, now Penney's.  Very disappointing.

I noticed that too.  I just ordered curtains from JC Penneys three weeks ago through the marketplace web site, so this is very new that it has been pulled.  Yep, very disappointing.

I feel the same way!  I spend hundreds of dollars at JC Penneys every year with school clothes and household items and such.  This will be a HUGE blow to my Boxtops contributions!!

I'll really be down if Staples stops participating.  I do all the supply ordering for my employer through the BTFE site & manage to get $20 - $30 a month for my school.

Thanks for the heads up. I probably would not have realized that  until I placed my order.  It is a disappointment since they are a reliable merchant as far as shipping and paying the % to the school's account. Guess I'll have to go through Upromise for my JcPenney orders. Hope the others I use don't follow.

I noticed this as well and I have e-mailed a message to JC Penney expressing my disappointment and explaining how valueable this was to our school.  Please feel free to do the same- www.jcpenney.com, under contact us- via e-mail.  If enough people express their disappointment than maybe they will re-consider.  This should be done for any merchant you use regularlly that you would like to see on the merchant list.

Great idea to email JcPenney.  I will do that for sure.  They actually lost a sale from me already because they no longer participate.  I went to Sears to order curtains instead!

RE: JC Penney no longer participating in Marketplace?

Hi everyone!  I just emailed JC Penney's to ask them to reconsider dropping out of the Box Top Program.  I told them that I prefered to shop with them, but as I needed to redo my daughter's bedroom with new curtains, rugs, and spread.  I wrote that I was going to a store through the Box Top Marketplace that supported our local elementary and middle school and its parents.

I mentioned that I thought Lands End, Justice, Old Navy and even Sears would probably send them a thank you note for opting out of the program.  I mentioned that back to school clothes and supplies were fast approaching and I would be looking in the Marketplace and going elsewhere if they decided to stick to their current plan.  The email says they will reply in 48 hours.  Will let you know what they say.

I received my reply back from Penneys.  It is just a generic response with no reason given as to why they pulled out. Let us know if they give you a reason or a better response to your request.
