Double Crust Pizza

Take classic pizza toppings, and sandwich them between layers of tender, thin pizza crust. Doubly delicious!

Ingredients

  • 2 cans (11 oz each) Pillsbury® refrigerated thin pizza crust
  • ½ cup pizza sauce
  • ½ lb bulk Italian sausage
  • ¼ cup chopped onion
  • ½ cup sliced pepperoni
  • ½ cup red bell pepper, cut into 2x1/2-inch strips
  • 1 ½ cups shredded Italian cheese blend (6 oz)
  • ¼ teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes, if desired
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

Directions

  1. Heat oven to 400°F. Spray or grease 15x10-inch or larger dark or nonstick cookie sheet. Unroll 1 can of dough on cookie sheet; starting at center, press dough into 15x10-inch rectangle.
  2. Spread pizza sauce on dough. In 10-inch nonstick skillet, cook sausage and onion over medium-high heat 5 to 7 minutes, stirring frequently, until sausage is no longer pink; drain. Spoon evenly over sauce. Top with pepperoni, bell pepper and cheese. Sprinkle with red pepper flakes.
  3. Unroll remaining can of dough. Place on cheese, stretching to cover. Brush with olive oil.
  4. Bake 15 to 20 minutes or until crust is golden brown.
