Weird boxtops

I just picked up a large number of boxtops yesterday.  In there was 8 large(4"x3") brown  cardboard boxtops logos.  They look to be bonuses but have no money denomination on them.  There is an expiration date (6/2009) and a YOP(not sure what that means).  They have a dotted line on them to show where to cut...i am at a complete loss.  Has anyone seen something like this?  BTW, i turned them over and it is just brown cardboard on that side too with no writing!

RE: Weird boxtops

those boxtops come off the yoplait yogurt cases that some schools use.  I think they are just worth the 10cents like all the rest.

I've cut the type you descibed off of a couple of items I bought at Sam's club a while back.  One was a case of baby wipes, can't recall what the other was off of. It was a promotion earlier this year and they are worth more than a regular box top.

RE: Weird boxtops

They are probably from a warehouse "buy in bulk" store.  The YOP should be YoPlait Yogurt.  When I purchased some it was worth $.50.  The brown cardboard is just the packaging.

They also come from the big boxes of cereal that schools get containing the individual cereal bowls.  Unless printed otherwise, I believe they are only 10cents

RE: Weird boxtops

How great is this?!! I was just signing in to ask about the same thing!

I just became the PFO President of our school (same as PTA without the yearly dues) and found this big box of boxtops, so I signed in to see how to count them up and send them in. Unfortunately, there are a TON of them that are outdated.

Is there some way that we can contact someone from this company to find out if they are worth 10¢ or 50¢.
Also, can someone help me out with some info on sending these in? Do they need to be packaged a certain way, counted and marked, etc?

Thanks, Tina

RE: Weird boxtops

Tina,

If your school has participated in the past you should have a coordinator number and log in, if not, call this number 1  888,  799,  2444, 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. CST, seven days a week.  Once you have a coordinator number the forum on that side has tons of information but here's the basics:  Most BTs are worth 10cent each, typically if they are worth more it says (but there are a few out there that are hard to figure out).  They get submitted in bundles of 50 either in plastic baggies or rubber banded together.  If they are already attached to a collection sheet, then group the collection sheets together in groups of 50 and staple the pages together.  I find it best to trim up all the box tops, helps reduce the cost of shipping.  If they are expired, for the most part, you can't submit them (more info on that on the coordinators side of btfe.com).  They can be sent in any time, but twice a year there are deadlines to get them in for the next check date, checks are only sent out twice a year.  The deadlines are the end of Oct and Feb.

Good luck, hope that helps get you started, it is an amazing program and can be adicting!!!!!

Emily
