Summer is a great time to hit the trails of our local, state and national parks.  Whether biking, hiking or having a family picnic, our parks are a great place to visit and reconnect with nature.  Here in Minnesota, my favorite is Itasca State Park.  It's where the headwaters of the Mississppi River is located, and they have great bike trails for families with kids of all ages.  My family went there a couple of summers ago and had a great time.

This year my husband and I have decided to take the boys on a bigger adventure.  We are packing up the van and heading out across South Dakota and into Wyoming to visit Yellowstone National Park.  Some of my best vacation memories as a kid were from our family trip to Yellowstone and I can't wait to share that with my two boys.

As we were planning our family adventure to Yellowstone, I learned about a project that one of our Box Tops brands is supporting.  Nature Valley has launched it's Preserve the Parks campaign, which will help raise money to support various park projects.  You can help by mailing in your specially marked Nature Valley wrappers to National Parks Project.  Nature Valley will then donate 10 cents per wrapper, up to $250,000.  And all wrappers will be recycled.

Nature Valley Trail Mix Bars are a favorite of my family and they will be making the trip to Yellowstone with us.  I'd love to hear about your favorite Nature Valley products too.  Also, please share your tips or recommendations for parks to visit across the country.  (And don't forget to clip your Box Tops too).

soxer - The program is supported by a variety of Nature Valley granola bars, including crunchy. Look for specially marked packages of your favorite flavors in stores now. Thanks for supporting Nature Valley & Box Tops for Education.

it's too bad that they are only taking TRAIL MIX wrappers because i eat the regular NATURE VALLEY bars, roasted almond and pecan crunch, everyday and imagine how much more would be raised if they took all the different bars made by NATURE VALLEY oh well, just a suggestion !!!!!!!
